Why should you join LRC Juniors?
Our coaches are committed to developing not only athletes, but well rounded young adults who can transfer their skills to every aspect of their lives from school to their future careers. Rowing teaches each member of the team how to communicate with both their teammates and coaches. In the boat, each rower MUST rely on their teammates to get them through the finish line. Every seat matters. Everyone has to start somewhere and our team is committed to providing the best experience for our athletes to grow and develop to become the best athletes, teammates, friends, and people they can be.

College Recruiting
Rowing is a great sport to get recruited to participate in and receive a scholarship for college tuition. Because of Title IX, scholarships for young women are widely available across the country for Division I teams. These scholarships can range from covering books, to full rides. Both of our coaches were recruited to row in college and have a variety of connections and lots of experience in being recruited which they pass down to LRC Juniors athletes. Rowing is an investment in developing into a responsible young athlete and an investment in their futures. College is expensive and rowing can be a passion that is continued in college and beyond, as well as a way to help provide opportunities to those who can't afford full tuition. Scholarships from rowing also open up opportunities to attend a school out of state and row in some beautiful new places and in turn the ability to race and travel across the country!
Currently in our short 2 years back on the water, the Louisville Rowing Club Juniors Program has alumni rowing for the University of Louisville

Learn to Row Camps:
Our learn to row camps are open to rising 8th graders through rising seniors in High School. These camps will teach new rowers how to row in a safe, fun, and productive environment. Rowing is sport that focuses on teamwork, discipline, and learning new things together. We love to have athletes of all skill and fitness levels to come try out rowing and learn something new. These camps will run Monday through Friday from 9am to 11:30am.
Campers should show up ready to engage their minds and bodies both on land and on the Ohio River with our experienced coaching staff. Campers will learn how to handle the equipment, safety essentials, and basic rowing technique. Our camps are co-ed and open to any student from any school in the Louisville area.
If you loved the learn to row camps, what comes next? If you would like to participate in another camp, you will receive 50% off each of the following camps you sign up for! If your rower decides they would like to continue with rowing, then they will contact our Head Coach Riley about signing up for the Fall. Information about signing up for fall and what comes next will be sent out at the end of each camp. We hope to see you on the water with us this Summer!
